Modeling Water Droplet Freezing and Collision with a Solid Surface

چکیده

Water droplets released from the sea surface represent one of major causes ice accretion on marine vessels. A one-dimensional model freezing a spherical water droplet moving in cold air was developed. The crystallization allows to obtain an analytical solution if uniform temperature distribution over liquid’s core is assumed. validated using STAR CCM+ Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code. collision partially frozen with solid wall assuming plastic deformation crust also considered. ratio thickness evaluated. It assumed that this were exceed unity, would stick wall’s due bridge formation caused by droplet’s core.
